Time in momentum

Hits like a pillow

Kills like she’s venom

Ms corrosion over time

Poisons me in comfort

As I slowly boil alive

Her modus operandi

Is to trick me with candies

Gently bind me to habits

Like an oblivious frog

First in great comfort

Then when it’s too late

Eventually boiled alive

We used to anesthetize and dissect them as students. They lay unsuspecting, with their innards exposed, eyes popping, hoping to be released soon. And we did release them, by flinging them over our compound wall, bellies ripped, to be eaten alive by stray dogs. Oblivious till its too late.

I prefer my frogs deep fried. Ya know they have zero percent fat in them :)I agree with your topic at hand. When on full alert we are pretty good at observing what's going on. However, when content, man do we miss it.
PS I 'd like a side of greens and maybe a hushpuppy with my frog legs.

Southern comfort food is always appealing. The frog may have no fat but the batter it gets fried in sure does... still better than chicken wings.

Are you familiar with the fable of the Boiling Frog? I kinda stole the idea from that.

I used to fret over originality but now a days... I've found that almost everything anybody writes has already been, more or less, written before. It's both humbling and frustrating. I suppose if I didn't read (listen to audiobooks) this would be a problem. I'd feel a lot better about myself if I at least thought I was being original is what I'm trying to say.

Funny or not that's an excellent idea... just one really easy to f**k up. I've never met a writer personally who could be Run DMC and Aerosmith all at once.
