Boiling Frogs

Boiling Frogs

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

"

Time in momentum

Hits like a pillow

Kills like she’s venom

Ms corrosion over time

Poisons me in comfort

As I slowly boil alive

Her modus operandi

Is to trick me with candies

Gently bind me to habits

Like an oblivious frog

First in great comfort

Then when it’s too late

Eventually boiled alive

Strewth mate, I thought they only did that to lobsters and the like. You just gone and put me of my tea... However yes indeed, that's time for ya...Nobodies friend in the end I'm afraid. A nicely crafted and prophetic little write, if I may say so...........All Good Things, for now at least.....Neville

I like this. It really illustrates how easy it is to fall for someone who is ultimately toxic. A lot of the time we don't see the faults in how we are treated by people until its too late and we are already hooked.

I really enjoyed this. It's an interesting mix of entertaining and cutting. The humor is bitterly ironic. The depiction of the female is harshly real.
Nice work.

You're welcome!
Just read that fable...quite fascinating! Really liked how you so astutely described a twisted relationship where one of them is left a puppet in the hands of the other and is eventually eaten up by the same hands, not literally lol. And it wonderfully corresponded to that fable all through the way.
Enjoyed reading this one!

Dark, kind of depressing, and very good. Great flow, loved your word choices. This is a great piece, and can't wait to read more of your work.

Thanks Richard, I appreciate the feedback.
I really liked the ending of the poem- not much of an optimistic one but good.

Thanks guy. The Boiling Frog fable is one of my favorite things to think about.
I found this poem to be extremely interesting. It was deep and vague and I loved it.
