On an ocean of unearned knowledge Compelled by a conflict addiction Operating so stupidly smart-like With a PhD from Youtube education Alive to what’s trending Blind to what’s tangible The new kids indeed, they are smarter But in a far more perilous world Not even a little less stupid
For the first time in my life, I think of the 70-somethings as the cool kids ( of course they were the world of tomorrow when I was young). They are still wearing leather chaps and riding a hog while and caring about their passions. While the youth keep a map of Hogwarts and wands in their trapper-keepers and learn how to do nothing of worth. They learn plenty but cannot apply it to life.
PS I love learning stuff on the web any topic I want is at my fingertips but being exposed to something is not always the same as receiving sound instruction for it.

Nice write - shows a little bit of today's generation. I liked the third row, where you wrote ;operating so stupidly smart-like.'

because of the dependency on technology instead of using the common sense to think, it is the internet which does the answer for them. it saddens me especially a phd from you tube education.

Thank you for this poem on my son. He's 11 and he knows more than me. The problem is he thinks he is too good to have friends.
