Consuming Without Growing

Consuming Without Growing

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

. never turn away from the ugliest parts of yourself, unless you want them to remain the ugliest parts of yourself .

"
avoiding the burden of being conscious
by returning to the unconscious
drunkenly, dependent, reactionary, immature
consumed whole by hatred, jealously, by self love
becoming the epitome of a false reality
consuming always constantly, but never growing a beat...
leaving reality unreal, merely pretended and s***s
by turning away from our flaws and limitations
we lie to ourselves
doomed to repeat the same exact tribulations
because we lied to ourselves
doomed to die in some stupid a*s f*****g fantasy,
      oblivious
because we're p*****s
      full of egos
because we lie to ourselves
      terrified of the truth
      that we're all just human
not more
never less
(my batman costume is the tits)

Perfect ... I have been trying to articulate this exact thought and bugger me you just went and did it nicely
.... ah yeah ... but don’t you think most are still sleepily oblivious to even having to think about what you have said here ... and in that oblivion comes a certain sense of cart (how does one spell that?) Blanche ecstasy ?

Realistic, Truthful, yet Brutal. I enjoyed the concept of throwing the truth right into a poem without sugarcoating the idea to make it pleasing to the public.

It's the only way I know how to write.

Sometimes it doesn't work so well.

I find it to be unique and exciting. If so, ignore the discouraging remarks.
I suddenly got the urge to take this writing and place it on the first page of a textbook. Preferably for school. It's a warning, "Beware, whatever you read here - history repeats because the winners are f****n' losers" XD

Ha... that was pretty funny.
A interesting tirate for a society full of snow flakes. Ya better turn the heat down or they'll melt before they finish the read.

It has been a sobering observation in life, that some of the most educated, accomplished and articulate of people turn almost child-like in their denial of their flaws and limitations. Infantile egos and behind them a fear of facing our hopelessly impaired selves...the basis of the darker human emotions...
