I often think how dying would feel like and what would be it's consequences (and who doesn't?). Sometimes, it scares me to bits, while sometimes, it doesn't. We all die, that's the ultimate truth. We all die alone, that's like...the most ultimate truth. What you did here is not easy at all. A truly evocative write!

There is a truth in this. When your eyes stop moving, and the lids don't hide them, you're truly alone. Even those who believe in an afterlife. This is good.

It's kind of an unpleasant truth. One I think everyone is aware if only on a subconscious level. I think there is a feeling of solidarity in that truth if only, again, on a subconscious level. We all know this will end, but we don't really agree on the aftermath. None the less, cannibalism still remains pretty taboo in most places these days. meow

No one can be wrong. It's part of the fun when not taken too seriously. Some of the most influential people in my life have of the deeply religious vein. I don't believe in god, but I do not deny his affect or pretend to know anything absolutely. A drunk Puerto Rican lady once called me "the president of black people".

I’m just not one for moral relativism. The whole Hitler, holocaust thing I find to have an absolute place on the morality meter.

All sarcasm aside though, I get it. Someone saying they “know” something, “absolutely”, with all the uncertainty around, can sound pretty arrogant. However, I would suggest that, that arrogance would be put away if such knowledge was considered given instead of gained on ones own.

Amusing story about the Peurto Rica Lady to go along with not being serious, for sure.
