I often think how dying would feel like and what would be it's consequences (and who doesn't?). Sometimes, it scares me to bits, while sometimes, it doesn't. We all die, that's the ultimate truth. We all die alone, that's like...the most ultimate truth. What you did here is not easy at all. A truly evocative write!

Thanks cat face. Stop thinking about dying, smoke some grass and masturbate.
The flow and tone of this is wonderful. A sense of hopelessness yet resignation of this simply being how life is. At least that is what I feel from this beautiful piece.
I'm a massive Donnie Darko fan and I genuinely love this. It has a Mad World feel to it.
A friend used to call me doll face so, while I already felt connected to the words, there was a jolt that felt like you were talking right to me.
We come alone too....Who remembers the entry? I hope the exit will be as unremarkable too. A quick slip into nothingness. I love myself too much to bother if anyone was around when the end comes. I'd be busy watching out for myself. Dying is scary. Not dying alone.

Just as we are born alone, we enter sleep alone, we feel our pain alone ... it is the cycle of everything, that's why it's important to stay awake in this moment and feel life. It's hard to express these thoughts but you do it so eloquently!

Nobody actually remembers the moment they attain consciousness... it just kinda happens. I think that dying might feels very similar. The main difference is that we can usually see the dying part coming. Usually.

I don't think it makes sense to anthropomorphize death. Claiming something with zero hard evidence then justifying it by saying "rule nothing out" just makes no sense to me. That's not what faith means to me. And that kind of thinking is akin to arguing for Santa claus, the easter bunny, or the fountain of youth among many other fanciful myth's without substance. When you say "rule nothing out" without some kind of logical evidence that statement becomes completely meaningless. If nothing is ruled out then nothing is all you know for certain. It's a zero plus zero game... I find that kind of logic to be childish.

But why must everything make sense to you and why must everything have meaning? And fanciful myths are at the heart of most of our cherished stories. And to be childish is arguably our happiest state, so I for one do not object to have a little of the child still in me.
Your poem is melancholic and interesting at the same time. It has truth that can disturb the reader while consistently trying to point out the ephemeral facts of our existence. I like the approach!
One thing I like here is your structure, the way you interrupted it to have "truly" in its own paragraph makes it feel all the more emphasized. It's like, if you were speaking it aloud, suddenly raising your voice to drive something home.

There is a subtle nuance to a good punchline. Obviously, I'm not very funny but I do kinda understand how to structurally enunciate a 'punch line', so to speak.
