That sounds kinds dark coming from you. Forgive me but, one of the most fugged up cases of accidental mass murder had to do with an Indian lady and some mid-meal beverages. I think I'm going to climb something in Alaska again this year. This was supposed to be about mountain climbing; why do you always make me think about serial killers?

Lol. Cyanide Mallika is our answer to Mary Ann Cotton and the likes. Interesting, the deadliest female serial killers in the West mostly used arsenic which in my view is much slower than cyanide which is certainly a decisive poison!

This poem is enticing in its offer of fellowship in death, a mostly solitary experience. The concluding line hints at a promise of after-life, which I understand is contrary to your beliefs and which makes it more intriguing.

The arsenic thing was mostly due to the era of certain serial killers. Back then it was readily available but not easily detectable and had very similar symptoms to simple food poisoning or cholera which were both very common issues in the 19th century. Cyanide is not only quicker but it is somewhat hard to detect without looking for it in the autopsy. Also, for cyanide to be lethal it must be converted to it's inorganic salt form which usually doesn't occur in nature so it was much harder to come by back when poisoning was still a thing. There is also the whole "I wanna watch you suffer" aspect of it all... there's even a specific category of serial killer called "Angel of mercy" that gets off on their suffering and appearing to "help" them while they are dying.

'Angel of mercy...' That is creepy yet in a twisted way so gratifying for those who hate deeply and are able to cross the ultimate boundary to consummate the hate. Not all can accomplish that....

I know you don't watch TV but there is a show on Netflix called "Mindhunters"... watch it. You'll love it. (most of it)
