filling empty

filling empty

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

. "the usefulness of the cup is it's emptiness" B Lee

"

there is no living without emptiness
we make walls we make windows
we make doors with great locks
we have roofs and guard dogs
but it is in the emptiness of our spaces,
our most internal of unguarded places,
where we live truest to ourselves
in spite of nothing

where we can become anything

I'll second what John The B said below - that's quite succinct.

I heard on a podcast this morning someone say 'how many of us have found peace within?' that peace comes from emptying, detaching, unfettering.

We are all very good at holding onto the physical and emotional. The focus should be elsewhere, in the nothingness.

Nice poem ... brings me back to base ... base can be a good place to hang out X

The unguarded places when we are truly alone and truly broken.

I hope your emptiness gets filled with someone or something… worthy.

Your voice is in awe? I'm not sure what that means but it sounds like a compliment... so, thanks? .. read more
A self aware intake of living. The first line is kick a*s. Perhaps this is just another example of fractal geometry - like most of the universe is supposedly empty, so is the soul...who knows... I could practically hear Moby's ''Everything that rises'' while reading this.

Did you see that video of Bruce Lee playing ping pong with the nunchucks? Its awesome. Both Bruce and his son Brandon where amazing people. They made the world better just by being in it.

Indeed he was. One of those rare, pure souls.

This is an interesting take on the concept of emptiness, something that has fascinated me for years. The poet says "there is no living without emptiness," and then shows some of the ways in which we create emptiness. The important thing, however, is the internal emptiness where we all truly live. In this place, "we can become anything." This is very insightful, reminiscent of the Buddhist scripture which states that emptiness is fulness and fulness is emptiness. Thus emptiness is not to be dreaded, but embraced, for it is only a part of what we are. Very good philosophy in this offering, very succinctly and clearly stated. Good work.
