Limiting History (revised)

history is the curse that limits the expectation's of tomorrow
to the glorified form of yesterday's heroes.
an idealized brand manufactured based upon idols
caricatured into all powerful gods,
exaggerated and manipulated,
into something all dominating, 
inherently something threatening. . .
something made to be advertised,
ubiquitously,
eventually fully "monetized",
assumed by all to be accepted
and respected, wholesale.
then followed, religiously
based upon sheer name recognition
alone. . .
until chaos reconvenes
and history is rewritten,
once again.

You know what they say...history is written by the winners and is anything but truth; out of curiosity i once compared my history book that i was learning from school with my brother's ( he is 5 years younger than me), and well, it's like from parallel universes, the dates are changed and many facts are rewritten, like the reason of the WWI and why it started etc. It's just marketing and promoting countries. Love the subject you brought on, it's my favorite drunk talk subject, plus couldn't pass by JD Morgan's pic.

The first time I saw J Morgan act was on a show called Weeds many years ago, he played a tragically dead husband... then I saw him again on Greys Anatomy, a tragically dying love interest... then I saw him in the Watchmen, dies in the first ten minutes... now he's Neegan and his ending is pretty well known if you read the comics. That dude is this generation's tragic pop actor, hands down, no one does it more than him. Oh yeah, thanks for liking this revised abortion; you're being way to generous, I've sucked for past month straight now.

Yeah well join the club, im kinda stuck with the writing as well...maybe its a bad month, although in my case just a severe excess of monotony. Indeed there is a pattern with this particular actor but i still like him as John Winchester and Neegan as well. The walking dead used to be on of my favorite shows but its slow pace kills me...but i like the moral of it though...no matter what the end of the world brings, even all present zombies, humans are still the most fucked up there. They are the real danger and definition of monster. Anyway, too bad you think its abortion. The poem especially the subject is legit.

I'm happy to be in the same club as you, mostly for unsavory reasons. I'm with you on the slow pace of the walking dead... they have such great actors and some pretty compelling source material. I think AMC is just milking it for the money duckets and it's dragging the ratings down. Maybe we should try combine our slumping material... one good poem from two slumping writers.

ha, i thought the same, after all, this show had crazy ratings especially at the beginning. I wish they would be done in max 3 seasons or even 2, like hemlock grove or hannibal...

i say tare down the monuments of those people who deliberately hurt others to get immortalized. Am i reading into this poem correctly the sustained firestorm from the demands to remove confederate statues from State houses..? If so, symbol worship is dumb. Love and having an affinity for love will be the talk of future generations, not for the ancients. When war veterans get together, they talk about war, not peace...

Not specifically about the statues but kinda prompted by it. I was thinking more about the latter stages of the Roman Empire, the Egyptian's, the euro empires (spain, Portugal, England) and to a lessor extent the Mayan and Aztec collapses. I see an obvious repetition among them all and I think right now we might be living in a transition phase like we've never seen before. Also, I got pretty high and drank a little whisky right before I revised this and while I'm writing this comment.... so... I'm cool with you saying none of this makes sense. That would make sense to me.
