I Identify as a Dinosaur

I Identify as a Dinosaur

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

.

"

i dream sometimes,

of an overly allowing environment;

conducive to nothing but genuine difference's

and their ability to manifest themselves freely.

not a place where one pretends to work,

while the other pretends to pay you.

not a place you could ever stay the same,

just to survive,

or last very long if you tried.

(sans adaptation)

it seemed a place purely without exception.

a strange place,

a very different place.

without collective guilt train's

or any abstractly contrived shaming mechanism.

it seemed a place where truly,

there was no more sorry

to be sorry for anymore.

because sometimes you see. . .

i dream that i am a dinosaur

living in a world full of flesh and of conifers.

where equality of outcome is everything

but guaranteed.

where there is no shame in defeat,

in becoming dung, death and then feces on repeat.

ah. . .

i really do love those dreams.

and as old Freddy N would say...

"there is rollicking kindness that looks like malice"

the world is a funny place

all living is hilarious

I love this very intelligent and no-nonsense poem. You are quite right, sometimes that what seems 'malice' is actually quite helpful and rollicking kindly meant! Also love the line 'there is no shame in defeat.' (but I think I would prefer to live here and now, not with dinosaurs!)

On second though, me neither... dinosaurs are pretty terrifying.

i love the "when there is no shame in defeat" line. it seems as if everyone prefers to laugh and pick at and deteriorate others over what they haven't done correctly, instead of encourage and give hope. very great read.

The title drew me in and the content was deeper than I anticipated. Great work!

Fear not, pretend dinosaurs aren't easily offended
I'm jealous of animals from time to time. My cat in particular, but dinosaurs must've had their good parts too. Oh, and the monkey that was falling into the black hole in one of the PBS Space Time videos...what an interesting fate.
