At this I point I think it's ego. His family probably would prefer he didn't win. His brand is already permanently damaged as the bulk of his supporters cannot afford anything that brings him money. It's pretty well known he's worth around 4 billion dollars at this point. Forbes would love to print otherwise but they aren't into the fake partisan stuff. It's still 6 billion less than he claims, but, given the property he does currently own versus the debt he didn't write off in one of the four bankruptcies he's worth quite a bit of money. He probably has very little liquidity though. And say what you want about Putin as an immoral reprobate, that's objectively true, but he is clearly no buffoon. You don't stay in control of a major world power that long by being a buffoon.

He does not and never has had the liquidity to offer anyone a billion dollar payoff out of his own pocket. He doesn’t even pay his contractors. He is known to have received OVER four billion dollars in loans just from Deutsche Bank over the last twenty years and remains in debt to them right now to the tune of at least three hundred million – three hundred million that is being investigated as part of a Russian international money laundering scheme. His businesses (which are his hard assets) are reported to be at least 1.8 billion in debt to foreign banks. The Wall Street Journal (a bastion of conservative corporatism) reported he owes 1.5 billion to over 150 different institutions. He also lost nearly a billion with his casino failures. Who knows how much he lost with all his other business failures, like the steaks and vodka, for example?

Whatever his actual worth when he began his presidency may have been, we cannot know because he would never and will never accurately report it, nor provide any real documentation – like his tax returns. But, you can be sure, he and his family are lining their coffers every single day he’s in office.

You're misunderstanding how net worth is calculated and what debt means to extremely wealthy people. All that casino debt was paid for pennies on the dollar through his various bankruptcies. Trump Steaks and those other stupid brand deals didn't lose him much, those aren't large investments at all. I despise the man as well but I'm not going to delude myself. Lets use the 1.8 billion in debt figure... lets say he pays around 5-6% interest on that debt... that's about 60 million dollars in interest per year... the properties he finances with that debt exceed that in income by a very large margin, not to mention his hotel branding deals that require no cost from himself but also bring in far more than 60 million a year when combined. I think he's hiding his tax returns because of extreme conflicts of interest with foreign governments and he probably, like most extremely wealthy people... doesn't pay his fair share of taxes for one reason or another.

His Daughter is almost a billionaire... his son in law is a billionaire... these are s****y people but their money is real. Accept it, the world we live in is not a fair one.

I do understand the “net worth” calculations. My point was that he doesn’t have a billion dollars to hand out to Putin. If he’s bought Putin’s support, it’s by promising to overturn the sanctions and promote Russian interests – which he seems eager to do.

You're also taking my flippant comment about an amusing scenario way too seriously, none of us really know how that situation will turn out when the investigations are finished. You should lay off the rhetoric when making your point about politics, the far left's overuse of that is what got him elected... as a reaction to the social justice movements, the militant part of the BLM movement, and the "safe space" non sense in general. No conspiracy, it didn't even have a lot to do with him... coulda been anybody as long as they were an outsider going against the current social trend of social justice warrior nonsense.
