What is Not Understood of an Enemy is Your Greatest Enemy

What is Not Understood of an Enemy is Your Greatest Enemy

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

what is not understood of an enemy
is your greatest enemy

most western soil does not know war
anymore
just isolated incidents of tragedy
or self inflicted idiocy

we are not born of war here
we keep our children innocent

getting very used to violence
is like learning language
one must start very young
so conflict is like breathing
and compromise like bleeding
this makes you fearless
fundamentally
the value of being born of this
is this fearlessness on command
and a willingness to die at anytime

this life is constant for some
pervasive and unrelenting
they've known no reprieve

so making vulgar displays of cosmetic aggression
mean nothing to these men of constant violence
only a fool would think otherwise

there is only annihilation or assimilation
there is no third option

for either side
there never was

this is likely a zero sum game
sadly the one side
still refuses to admit it

"Do you know what happened to the Neanderthals, Bernard? We ate them."

You words are true ... pretty much all of them ... a while back I wanted to find out why we chose the thought patterns we did throughout history. I read a book called The History of Western Thought (pre Socrates) ... it's amazing how we have built on each Thought and fear and hate always seem the Victor's ... we think we are smart, we think we have come so far and yet we still keep circling in the desert heat on the spot ... being human is futile ...

And yet, I am still certain there is an escape route ...

Your comment about your music videos ... huh?

I like the way you think - not many can see and then articulate so neatly what is.

Yup yup X
