Flesh

Flesh

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

.

"

once, there was a great love in my life

now, there's only tiny lights in a darkness

some last vestige of a living hobby kit

well put together...

then murdered for sport

my ancestor's bestowed upon me

deeply coded complex and miniscule

something secret

vestigial

is my rage against injustice

this is you

and me

taking everything

(so many pounds of flesh)

meaning nothing

a total eclipse of humanity...constructed

in the depths you found

us all

we'd do anything

 to save our progeny

would you die today to let the rest see tomorrow?

ha...

(our progeny is tragedy)

we were never meant to last

we exist to make it

when tragedy is all that is left

how can you forget that?

she is precious

and then you die

like it never happened
