Different strokes for different folks.
In some families, the swearing might be seen as a sign or term of affection I guess. In others you'd get a cuff across the back if the head. But I guess mother always knows best, and when she doesn't she probably means well.

This reminds me a lot of my family. This is an amazingly unique poem describing one personal aspect of a shared pattern expressed throughout the upswings and pitfalls of the ideal human family, exposing in a way yet one more strand of fabric that was woven into the chaotically ordered ordeal of mankind. It is one of a kind, but it also applies to everyone. Good poem dude.

I recall having many a heated 'discussion' with my mother; it all became much clearer when I got older and she confessed she used to have the same kind of confrontations with my grandma. I don't recall ever using the A word, but I'm sure I thought it on numerous occasions. :))
No doubt in mind that the cycle will continue; my son Charlie is ten now and is already not quite the child of sweetness and light he was.
Great poem and loved the title.

We all become hypocrites in one way or another. Even if we try to be different we always know why. Be nice to Charlie, you were a jerk once too. But of course, not too nice. Never too nice.
