Delusion is often associated with negative connotations. However, those who suffer from this ailment are trapped in a "magical prison"; escapism becomes abused. A "mad" and "sane" person are needed for this world given we all experience disorder. I envision the speaker experiencing later stages of a mental breakdown. Artists are prone to create their own universe; the mind is wild yet free. Perceptions of truth are distorted in memory. Prior to reading this, I wrote about the benefits of a journal or diary. These tools are invaluable tools to record our thoughts and emotions. Benefits include improved memory, comprehension, therapy, and so on. Creation comes from how we deliver our psyche visually or auditory.
Overall, we have all been the "mad" and "sane" person. I must throw out a generic yet applicable phrase, "Life is a jigsaw puzzle." Therefore, these pieces are difficult to put together especially when there are parts missing or parts added. Thank you for sharing!

I sometimes have trouble distinguishing between what really happened as opposed to something I dreamed or even just imagined. The day after, there doesn’t seem to be a real difference between the memories of facts, fantasies or dreams. They seem equally evanescent. What’s gone, is gone. You know?
Well done.

Thanks Phil. Evanescent is an underused word in that context.
I felt i was walking in a long white corridor ....looking into little padded rooms. It's an amazing description of a chemically imbalanced mind.... gives you insight!

That's about right. Not much is worse than a sweaty padded room.
Great piece. Made me think that deep down everybody is more or less delusional; something that is both comforting and disturbing at the same time.
The weight of living is indeed too much sometimes.

Our brains only pick up a fraction of what is really going on. We can't see anything beyond a small fraction of the visual radiation spectrum and we can't hear anything beyond a small fraction of the audible spectrum, etc, etc... That transcends into every part of our reality... we have to filter out certain things one way or another or the world would be a chaotic and incomprehensible place. Both in the natural world and the social world.
yeah, nice one! I have a friend who is bi-polar (I actually believe each of us are a little or a lot bi-polar) and when her mind is split ... wow, the darkness prevails in such a way it's real hard to pry back the self imposed cell within the mind and get her back in the balance again.
these words a wracked in desperation and despair, thinking wondering, contemplating on the where's how's and why's it all went wrong, but then you go further, take a fork in the road, to a tunnel with even more dark and less light , it's hard to turn around, hard to find your way back, better to stop and rest there a while, try and make some sense of things, by this point though, reason has been lost and with it perhaps so have you ... if there is a road back, it will be damning and treacherous you have to wonder if its worth the journey, when another end is so close at hand...
