Fear Driven Ignorance

Fear Driven Ignorance

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

"

digital words can be feared

unrealistically by the afraid

how the scared become weak

inside social behavior

words in common

customs alike

how we share this is reflection

our interactions are projections

in custom and colloquialism

an entire society reflects

together

on time

in a space

in common notions

and running themes

driving fear into ignorance

forgetting the agreed upon ends

that not one of us is safe

until all of us are safe

so few really believe that

and fight for nothing to be won

no sorry left to be sorry for

in the fields full of space

the blind remain all afraid

compelled deeply to look away

to any future

and all it's terror

hidden behind closed eyes

speculating

in fear that's forgotten

so i hope for the victims

of past enemies

enslaved to custom

 still afraid

The opening really struck me.
It's hard to separate (sometimes) the real threats from the perceived threats so we tend to be cautious.
Interesting thoughts.

It's not wrong to be cautious but it can be a waste of things to be overly so. Thanks for reading.
