Measured in Sunday Afternoons

Measure your life in sunday afternoons

Peaceful like

Content

Similar to graphed numbers online

Predictable like

A bell curve almost

In 3 d typical space

As time goes forth

The great disaster maker

A center that cannot hold

Watching gray hair by gray hair

Turn

A life into measured tablespoons

Emptied faster unlike an ocean

Like something

Something finite

Like an ocean

Or an ending of a contradiction

But before... conscious, like nothing other

Or ever seen thus far

Not like us

The infamous

Measuring machinistic-like, us animals

Walking and talking

All grown ups

Us Earth dirts

Sophisticated

And s**t

I laughed at the self awareness in this poem.
"unlike an ocean...Like an ocean...Or an ending of a contradiction"

Happened to read this on a Sunday afternoon. Something about lazy days where time doesn't feel so daunting but as you near the moment you have to be productive, everything is suddenly in measurements and panic inducing.

Enjoyed it.

Anxiety is a funny thing... what induces panic usually turns out to be mundane over time. Usually.

Perfect timing for me reading this - Spent last evening around a fire pondering cycles of life and importance of those times where we make time stand still to appreciate it or live it in the moment. I lost an Aunt last week in an awful tragic accident. Its haunting me. Life, live it now!

I hope you have better luck this week. Thanks for reading this thing.
I read it 3 times and each time I grew more and more into it. I really enjoy the way you start with an almost romantic-like vibe and end up with some serious existentialist undertones. That's a damn fine write, right here!

Lovely, I like the systematic way you break life down. Precise, mathematical, yet vast and undefinable. The end is my favourite. I'm currently on a rampage of adding 'and s**t' to the end of everything:-)
