We are all little worker bees. I wonder often if the reward is worth it.
I'm spoiled now though. I have my luxury items I can't do without.
But still, I work had every day. Making rich people richer. I did wonder did you mean content as in satisfied or content as in what's inside?

Most of what we call "achievement" is in vein. The market is getting abstract. Do you think a service based economy is in any way sustainable?

Well. That's a good question. I think there will be more serviced based jobs than manufacturing jobs in the future.

That seems like an incompatible match given the expectations for quarterly growth and the massive reliance on debt based spending. Not to sound like a nerd-b***h or anything...

If production isn't annually increased the house of cards falls very fast. We can only tip ourselves so much before it becomes full on ridiculous.

Well that's what got the US in trouble no? A few years ago?
Lenient lending practices at the banks, underwriting variable rate mortgages at low interest knowing people couldn't afford payments if rates rose. Which they did. But I think in general though there's less and less manufacturing? We have become very efficient in done ways. So we just make money by moving money around. I don't know... you're the nerd not me

They were called NINJA loans... no income no job? approved!

There is an amazing movie called "the big short" that sums it up quite nicely. They were a handful of brokers who knew what was about to happen and basically bet against the US economy. Made themselves many tens of billions but, in a sad way.

They weren't evil men. A few actually tried to stop the mortgage swap trades by appealing directly to the regulatory agencies. There is a tremendous flaw in the American financial sector... too much leverage, too many bets on other bets with insurance on other bets, etc, etc.... too much convoluted self interest I think. They just end up eating each other.
