Atlas the Immutable

Atlas the Immutable

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

.

"

everything

not a thing

nothing

holding void

providing space

for holding court

mass as resistance

our piece de resistance

in tiny packets of energy

divisions become whole

all spewed from the same point

conscious dissipation

together

we've known us to be dead

(knowledge incomplete)

bodily indentions

telling space how to curve

by her rules alone, it's how we move

in concert

naturally

it's no thing

not a thing

not one thing

it's the void

with us in it

it isn't empty

it's our future

our work to be done

the immutable

the inescapable

the essence of motion

all is movement

nothing

holds our place

not one thing

we are everything

passing through nothing

staining space

moving on

we are everything

in all that we carry

I loved this. Beautiful in the way it connected matter and its individuality. Space and void in its own territory. All are connected, interconnected in the cosmic consciousness. Matter which simply moves from one state to another, each state with its own properties and consciousness. Like how sodium and chlorine (both poisonous elements) combine to form sodium chloride which we use in our daily diet.
I liked how a single word in certain lines had a meaning of their own and they carried the narrative forward. A brilliant read. Do have a look at my 'Last Wish' poem. It is something on the similiar lines.

I had the Higgs field in mind when I wrote this.

I had to read this several times to make sense of it - and it really captured me, making me want to understand it. The fact that your lines are very short fits the style and the theme. For me, it works very well overall - and it's very rare that I have no constructive criticism to give, because generally I'm very picky. Thanks for a very interesting read.
