Crimson Penny

Crimson Penny

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

.

"

with my crimson arms around you

and a flower in my hand

at a playground in our mind

for the pretty girl around me

all that this life for me has staged

a symbol for a feeling

the things i have for giving

so in a wishing well a penny goes

on a wishful wish said gracefully

on the ridge of serendipity

with my arms outstretched

with something there to grasp...

or nothing there at all

"with a match that's mean and some gasoline

you won't see me anymore" Jeff Mangum

descending

from in the middle starts the end

the halos burn

into greying flesh

morose we dye our sky

greenish blackish clover

dead flesh

the dying before the ending

a halo wrapped around your neck

"with a match that's mean and some gasoline....."

Jeff Mangum

only the end is certain

Crimson Penny makes me think of dying wishes.
Your opening lines are quite beautiful but it feels overall like beautiful hopeful wishes that we kill or are killed. A halo wrapped around your neck is quite a powerful line. Almost like saying the road to hell is paved with good intentions. We can try and try to do good and be good but in the end this may be our downfall or killer. Like a kitten making friends with a pitbull. It can happen but the odds are against them. Anyway, this is what came to mind.
