Nothing is Promised

Nothing is Promised

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

Ignoring facts feeling better

Dying sooner

Hurt feelings mostly never

Phantom oppression

Social justice warrors

Combined to equal disaster

Pride for no reason

Mental health movements

Hollowed out ugly empty

Fat shame thin shame dick shame

Etc. Etc. shame

Movements built on the ill defined

Accepting self

Not strictly staying yourself

Or ruling out change

There is no need for a movement

Forgo feeling better

See the forest through the trees

Nothing is promised

Never be ashamed of that

In the second stanza, is that supposed to read, "social justice warriors"? If so, I like the sound of that. I think we would all have better health if we quit trying to please so many people, so much of the time! And your stanza on accepting self, yet amendable to change is spot on!
