From What I Know is Gold

From What I Know is Gold

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

all that glitters is not gold ( I fucked up one word that changed the entirety of this poem; I've since fixed it. f*****g glitter...)

"

it's greatly frustrating

the same exercise

yet I still look the same

but then I look around

I see the other

then I get back to running

again

as I do go

with these things that I do know

in

that no matter the ending

what's always been quite the same

is one's actions before great frustration

that which determines pure value, alone

unmistaken

and how that price is paid

to be unmistaken

from what I know is gold

from what still looks the same

to me all alone

that cost remains simple

and it pays to stay the same

when your worth it

and not afraid

the difference remains the same

the advantage remains within you

the rest is just pavement

on the way

I like where this has taken me. Simplicity is such a rare thing in this fucked up world. Pity it doesn't glitter, or maybe it does.
I was listening to James Blake - Digital Lion and it fit perfectly, though i like your choice as well. Lovely writing :)

I don't care what you do. Just stay away from me.
I do like the message of the poem that not everything Glitters Is Gold and it's same goes to people and their appearance where someone who may be pleasant and appearance may not have good intentions and spirit or halves our personalities. Also it is interesting that people can be the most nicest and may not look like it and that is also interesting how people can be different from your outer appearance just like how cold can look beautiful on the outside but can be rotten on the inside in other words being gelded. That reminds me of a quote I have heard in the musical into the woods where Little Red Riding Hood says nice is different from.

Most of the times we tend to ignore real gold and run after glitter. Excellent write....

Interesting read.

Running is a means to an end and a form of escapism here.

I really like the last two lines of the final stanza!
