One Tooth

One Tooth

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

.

"

every step was deliberate

on another hot day in november

doing the things you pay tax to misremember

all my hot days in november

in the heat

in every step

of belligerence

what we pretended was the difference

(so much nothing)

quietly, then killing

so.... that all happened

misfortune

(without tidy endings)

"don't wake me I plan on sleeping"

like The Postal Service

i'm just a message

from something we did

that wasn't worth it

but occurred

(ruthless brutal)

none the less

all the worse

sewed shut

i still will occur

again and again

what's been done is not special

it just sounds right

so it will happen

the misfortune of the gods

I will see you on the other side

dining proudly in the hall of the dead

with the few true warriors

as it need be
