Everyone Dies, Way Before They End

Everyone Dies, Way Before They End

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

ask Al Pacino or Robert De Nero... most live to see their end. If you can... please celebrate the quick death... the best way to fin your end.

"

I'm too stupid anymore to know who's dumb

What's funny or lovely;

F*****g pressure,

Under pressure.

Who's devolving?

Yeah.. it happens, like the clocks do.

Over informed,

Under disposed....

Shut the f**k up and stuff.

Just let me think....

There was something to be done

And, it's done?

Well, when it's done it's done certainly....

It no longer matters how stupid or dumb

It's just over

Time is the killer

and

Killer's are just symptoms,

You don't live like the book says.

You won't die like you want to.

Just something we have to...

(lost control)

inevitable

Then you die....

Then it ends.

Sometimes when you want to;

Most times, not so much.

Very interesting point here. I really like how the first stanza feels like someones racing thoughts then it just snowballs into the deeper darker feelings that many of us share but don't dare divulge or think about more than necessary and that is what makes this piece so powerful and sharp. Great job!

Reviews

some times I review a poem. Sometimes I read and say nothing and sometimes I'm just inclined to agree with the statements. In this case I'm dealing with my MIL who has dementia and wishes she was dead. Every week another of her friends dies. She is angry she is still here but the she that is here is only half here at any given time. Her body is reasonably healthy but her mind is toast.

It kinda just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Especially with the first bit being that much different from the rest.
