The Holocaust

The Holocaust

A Poem by MelissaMichelle
"

This is a poem I wrote when we where studying WII in Literature. hope you enjoy.

"

Pale faces of the lost
Innocent people who paid the cost
All their dreams were left crushed
All their humanity swept away in the dust
The survivors were left scarred
No one pictured it would be this hard
Even the one who planned it all
Didn't expect this big of a fall
Pictures were left in their head
Of all the wounded and the dead
Their lives were taken by such a disaster
No harmful drug could have killed them faster
Their future was placed before their eyes
They could no longer hide this disguise
As they watched
The bodies burned
Their stomachs churned
The churches in flames
In the Germans childish games
The hope of many was lost
The ones who paid the cost
Also know as, the Holocaust.

Really liked your poem. Very well constructed and the choice of words is spot on. I will continue reading your stuff.
