Nights dawn upon the wanderers

Nights dawn upon the wanderers

A Poem by LisaButterfly

Night dawns upon the wanderers
And the blanket covers the day
A frosty mist lingers over my head
The dewy air of spring has now left
What will become
Once the winds of winter turn into snow
This night is my lover
And that would ring true
Since love is madness
And the days are my drunken solace
Since wine is sweet sorrow
The shattered soft breeze on my forehead
He once chose to kiss
I watch myself staring into the crowded room
Moss grows slowly on stone when it rains
I spread myself across the boundaries of the Serengeti
Where the hummingbird howls
And the night sky turns upon the migrating buffalo
Love no longer lives here
For now his once warm breeze which held me in esteem is now just a passenger on an empty train
Ripe I told myself I was
Barren desert plains find life under the layers of sand
A tiny sand fly lives to tell the tale
Of the dream to live upon the Serengeti
Now lays the dread of a new day
