Chasing rainbows

Chasing rainbows

A Poem by LisaButterfly

I find this Life is an illusion
Chasing love when loves changes
Chasing acceptance when spaces reform
Chasing belonging when homes are torn down and rebuilt
Chasing rainbows when the day passes
Chasing conversations when they twinkle out
Chasing the I love yous of strangers
Chasing boys to love and be loved
Chasing words which say I like you
Chasing words which say I'm good
I’m realising that the ocean floor is long deep
And the horizon is not there
Accepting the light and shadows
Because Loneliness will visit
And Love will come around
so will those moments when we sit and weep
And those times when we want to leap
Then there will be a second when we notice a smile
And fall in love for a while
