You were born perfect you just forgot

You were born perfect you just forgot

A Poem by LisaButterfly

Did you forget?
That you were born perfect
Made up of every colour that your human eye can't see

In your mothers womb
You survived
And swam a thousand waves over

You were moulded
Replicated from clay wrapped around the warm arms of compassion
Reminding you that you are
Held by
Whole pure radiant love

And life was breathed into you
Perfectly whole and eternally impenetrable

A friend once said to me her spirit is broken
I said No.... spirits never break
They can't
Just like a mother's love is unconditional
In her arms you melt
A love that cannot be described in words
Only ever felt

As you are
Unconditional
Did you forget?

I wonder if it's conditions that fool us to think we are conditional
The world and its beautiful contradictions
Of profoundness and convenience
Cutting us out
Deluding us to thinking we can be broken

May solitude remind you
You cannot break
You are impenetrable
And brokenness is a worldly affair
Where corrugated harsh words fragment the velvety seamlessness within you

I am boring
I am worthless
I am unloved
I am alone

Did you forget?
These harsh words are of the penetrable
They can be broken
Transformed onto your canvas
And glued through poetry
Painted over with yellows and oranges and pinks and bright blues

You are perfect
You are loved
You are whole
And you belong

With all your beautiful brokenness
You are perfect
Did you forget?
May that be the greatest memory
