What if my dreams come trueA Poem by LisaButterflyJust like a baby bird needs its mother We all need each other We will fall We will stand We will crumble We will pick up the pieces And we will continue Chasing rainbows What if i get the rainbow Then what happens? Chasing intimacy What if i get it Then what happens Chasing happiness What if i get it Then what happens Willy Wonka said to Charlie Bucket What happened to the boy whose dreams came true He lived happily ever after Is life that simple I'm chasing tomorrow And when tomorrow comes I am chasing the next tomorrow What really happens when all of my dreams come true? Maybe there is no tomorrow Maybe dreams exist because they are dreams They wouldn't be called dreams if they came true Maybe its not about getting my dreams Maybe its about creating dreams that I need to find Maybe in those moments when my heart has a hole in it And my tears rush down my cheek Maybe when i am on my knees asking the vacant atmosphere to rescue me It's in those moments that dreams really matter And that's what dreams are for Not to be fulfilled But to keep us going in this crazy life I am a fragile feather So fragile I mask ourselves as a rock But underneath I am water I need love, belonging, stability, acceptance, to be heard, to be hugged I have dreams And for those who say they are confident in themselves And don't need any work to do They are the ones who are the truly repressed As humans we can't be fully confident This is a crime Its my fragility that guides me towards the unknown And allows me to stumble through with courage And persistence To take a deep breath And allow the uncertainty to be the only certain thing And to allow my dreams to always be there in moments when I am on my knees Just like a baby bird needs its mother We all need each other We will fall We will stand We will crumble We will pick up the pieces And we will stumble But we will continue Like birds of a feather Through all kinds of weather We need each other © 2014 LisaButterfly |
