A poem about children with special needs. I was inspired by my beautiful special needs children.

Special
Very special and unique
diffrent from other children
not understood by many
afraid of the world around them
not knowing why people stare

desperate to be accepted
struggling with daily tasks
always needing routine
unable to express their needs
more amazing than they realize

my niece is 40 years old now and is autistic...

communication she does in other ways, although she knows only about 20 words...

this communicates for and with them...it speaks of that which isn't spoken but implied...
but they do have needs and one of them is to be loved no matter what...
i feel the love expressed in this poem.

Thank you. It was written about my 3 boys all with diffrent special needs. My eldest has autism. All of my boys have speach delay, the eldest struggles with communicating.
