Celeste Anonymous

Celeste Anonymous

A Poem by Jess: ~The Sidekick~
"

English 11.

"

Once again I catch myself
admiring the sky above my grave plot.
In life I was blessed with intelligence,
which gave me overwhelming opportunity.
My personality was one you’d fall for,
it had given me many friends,
who’d put their full trust into me.
Yet all of this – the popularity and its perks –
were not who I was.
I was anonymous to everyone,
eventually even to myself.
My fake name and cover were…
in all truth, nothing but lies.
Looking to the celestial beauty
looming over me, all I once knew.
My past was but a dream.
My present obliterated by loneliness.
My future to be chiseled into shining stone.
“Alas the lie is broken,
loneliness is no more,
never fear you are without me,
for I can be found in celestial ecstacy.”

This work has a good flow to it... I especially liked how you didn't go overboard in rhyming and just rhymed the last two lines... but it read as easily as if it rhymed the whole way through... great job!
