Chapter SixA Chapter by Jess: ~The Sidekick~
Sara woke to find Melanie’s delicate arm wrapped around her stomach. Some teddy bear I am, she thought. Gently sliding the arm off of her abdomen, she slid out of bed soundlessly and strode to the master bathroom once again. Of course, she was going to check the time, but didn’t bother; right now she just didn’t care. Standing on the white tile, Sara once again contemplated what color to paint the room, maybe I’ll have it match the bedroom… she thought. The bedroom was a luxurious deep red, scarlet red even, with plush black carpeting, and a black ceiling. The furniture was polished aluminum, but it’d been gone over lightly with a circular grinder to give it a swirl effect. It was pretty elaborate, but she liked it. The lighting fixtures were the same, on the side of the room opposite the bed, over the vanity, there was a track light attached to the wall, on each side of the bed, and at intervals of four and a half feet in the upper-mid section of the walls, there were sconces which light shown toward the ceiling from. It wasn’t much lighting, but hey, Sara had a dimmer switch, she was all fine and dandy with it. On each of the bedside tables there was a single glitter lamp, which was basically the same as a lava lamp, only glitter. They were reddish pink, complimenting the walls, and around the room there was a four-foot black light centered at the top of each of the four walls. Sara found it relaxing to sit in the dark with the glitter lamps and maybe a black light on listening to music. Her bedroom was her ultimate sanctuary. Realizing she’d dazed out, she pulled her cell out of the side pocket of her pants for the time: 6:04. “S**t.” She looked in the mirror and saw that her make up had smeared again, f**k this, I’m not wearing any tonight. She needed to get a shower and change, fast. Turning around to turn on the shower, she figured she needed to wake up Mel, but decided not to and got into the hot stream of water. She hadn’t had a bandage on so her cuts had been open to the air all day, but it still stung when the water hit them. After washing her face, body, and hair, Sara made her way over to the towel rack and paranoia struck again. Grabbing one of the plush towels, she quickly wrapped herself in it and practically ran out the door. © 2008 Jess: ~The Sidekick~ |
