A man and history

It is about a man that is stuck in the past. It is where he is at a crossroads of his life where to go?

                                           Don was someone that would talk about what he did when he was in the Army . It was stories that his family had grown tired that that was all that Don talked about . One day Don`s best friend Tommy came over . They started to talk. As they talk Tommy could see that all Don talked about was his time that he had spent in the Army"Don you know that there is so much more that when you were in the Army." It got Don to think that it was true but it seemed to be the best time of his life."You see that was when I was just out of school . I know that I have to get out and do things. It just seemed that there was so many that I served with that have gone on. I just want to stay here at the house." IT was something that Tommy had dealt with and still did . "I tell you that we will start small we will go for a walk ." It was something that Don knew that he would have to do to break the living in the past.

                                      Don went out for what had seemed for sometime. It was a great day the sun was out and the kids were playing. Don knew that this was living what he was doing was not living . His wife looked on as the walked down the driveway . Don looked back he saw her smile and knew that he had to get out more . It seemed that things that he could talk about and not all about his time in the Army. To his surprise there were people that served and went for walks. It was something that Don and Tommy joined . It was a bunch of men just having fun something to Don he did not have in so long. Don knew that it was not healthy to live in the past that there was so much to live for now.

                                       Don had thought that all there was the stories that he had when he was in the Army. When Tommy got Don out side he found out that there was just so much more in life. There were times that the young kids by his house would ask him about his time in the Army. But that was it Don had a group of men that when on trips and just talked all that they were going through. Don was so greatfull to Tommy that he pushed him to get out of the house. If it were not for Tommy that he would not of met  group of guys. It was something that it was something that made Don happy to have what he had and gone through what he had gone through. Don found out that it was good to talk about the past sometimes but not to live in it. You have to live your life and keep the past as it is in the past.
