Nightfall on Shangri-LaA Poem by Linda Marie Van TassellHer eyes are like ocean-bottom ink, blacker than black and bluer than blue.
Moonlight on damask and damson plums
within the palace of Shangri-La. Patchouli patches linger in air above the sweet notes of tra-la-la. Diaphanous drapes cascade like mist, sequined shimmers of silk-satin fall. Mosaic columns are twined with vine. Feathered marble composes a wall. The floor is dressed with crimson pillows, velvet cushions like petals of rose. Twilight stockings are rolled down the sky. Hespera shines with stars on her toes. The hands of a zephyr lift her skirt as she surfs on the swell of the sea. She washes ashore on whitecap waves, dancing on sand, exuberantly. Diamond sparkles of amethyst shine in her hair, so black that it's blue. Her eyes are like ocean-bottom ink, blacker than black and bluer than blue. Dream of a dream inside of a dream, it's the magic of a mystery. Nightfall of visions on Shangri-La, Elysian fields inside of me. © 2021 Linda Marie Van TassellReviews
