The Wind Is In The WillowsA Poem by Linda Marie Van TassellI drank in love's glory then sank in the stormy tide.
The wind is in the willows
like a song in my heart as drops of deliquescence from cloudy eyelids start. My mind is in the moment of rosy fetters past. We shared a life together that ended much too fast. The fireflies of fancy hang in the darkened night like little Chinese lanterns on gentle wings of flight. I smile at the remembrance. I wipe away a tear. If only God could hear me, my arms would hold you near. Like those who came before me, with their hearts opened wide, I drank in love's glory then sank in the stormy tide. The sun-sparked blaze is dying. The rain its tribute pours, and flowers float forever from hands on sandy shores. When I close my eyes to dream and dreams around me close and wind is in the willows and twilight on the rose, the fireflies of fancy take to the darkened night. We ride as one together and rise as morning light. © 2010 Linda Marie Van TassellReviews
