Wrap Myself In Cry

Wrap Myself In Cry

A Poem by Linda Marie Van Tassell
"

I feel so all alone as I wrap myself in cry.

"
I can call to you in the morning,
but it doesn't bring you here.
I can reach out my arms to hold you,
but it doesn't bring you near.

I can weep into my pillow,
but it only creates a stream.
I can close my eyes to see you,
but it's only in a dream.

I can run across the meadow
straight into your heart,
but you never come to greet me;
and we always stand apart.

I can forgive everything
when I think on you at night
but quickly turn to sadness
when I face the morning light.

You have drifted like a summer.
A snow-beard on the tree.
I know you think no longer
of ever loving me.

I am dreaming of you now
as you gently kiss my face.
I turn into my sorrow
and gentle shades of grace.

My naked body weeping
with blue sheets of the sky.
I feel so all alone
as I wrap myself in cry.

You truly are superb!
Your writing is exquisite and I absolutely love your quatrains; that form suits you really well.
Once again you've got outstanding rhymes and they weave into my mind so well; creating a smooth flow, pulling me into the story and making me feel girl's sorrow.
The title alone, infused me with sadness before I even read a word of the poem; great job there :)

Very well done!

I adore this.

So passionate, and so easy to relate to.

I loved reading every minute of it.

Always,

I like this poem, and it made me think of the times when my boyfriend and I were arguing and didn't talk for like a day or 2, and it saddens me because I would just lay in my bed wondering if he will talk to me soon about what went wrong, and the things we said to one another. I also wrap myself in my blankets while thinking about him.

About
Poetry has been my passion since I was about fifteen years old, and I love the structure of rhyme and meter moreso than just randomly throwing words upon a page without any form whatsoever. Whi.. more..
