Funny Bunny

Funny Bunny

A Poem by Linda Marie Van Tassell
"

Life is short. Smile while you still have teeth!

"

I am no Playboy Bunny, honey.

I like sweetmeats, popcorn, and candy.

You might laugh and think that it’s funny,

but muffintops come in quite handy.

I loathe exercise and a treadmill.

I am pleasantly plump and curvy.

I have the desire but lack the will.

I am what some call topsy-turvy.

I am surely no ugly duckling,

but I will not sport a bikini.

I am really great for a snuggling

but will never be a yogini.

I am moon pie, snookums, and cheesecake.

I am sweet cheeks, honeybun, and fluff.

I am kissy face, biscuit, milkshake,

cuddle bundle, boo, and powder puff.

I’ve had my days of fun in the sun.

I made it out to the other side.

The bunny trail provides a nice run,

but I rather like it here inside.

Hippity, hoppity, floppity,

this is my life and story to scale.

If you don’t like it, no loss for me.

Pucker up and kiss my cottontail.

If I were given the opportunity to present a gift to the next generation, it would be the ability for each individual to learn to laugh at himself.

We all have to live to learn to laugh at ourselves, otherwise they can just switch the Internet off and we can all just agree that despite everyone else doing it wrong, we are all personally awesome, no matter how loud DJ denial is playing.
Think of what could be eradicated overnight. Accept we are not perfect and we begin to question why we believe certain things and not others. Maybe we would be able to see that having an opinion on such and such a figure/cause/ society that doesn't affect us in any way might just be easier to let people be whatever they be and before long, we all get along and hate dissipates from the equation.
Can you imagine? It's easy if you try 😊

Whatever our curves are, we must live with them and love thyself; it doesn't matter what other people think about you; if you can laugh and be content eating all the things you desire, then fine; stay inside, it's nobody's else's business.... I love the way you structured the poem... it has a bounce to it and an attitude of self love. Best, B

the alternative to not laughing at myself is rather bleak so I just laugh at myself (and quite often) of course you know I have to read anything that has to do with bunnies and I must say you represented quite nicely:) Bounce bounce

I really love the feisty nature of this poem

I don't know about anyone else who read this poem but it made me hungry. I do see the point and life would be nothing if we couldn't laugh at ourselves, but... I am still hungry though.

Thank you, Will. You have me laughing in my chair. :) I hope you eat soon.
This was lovely and funny. My baby girl loved the bunny pic too. I show her every bunny I see. They're her favorite animals.

The poem was fabulous too. Great job!
Accepting oneself, who ever they are, is a wonderful thing and it would be nice if more people could do this and not have to pretend that they were someone else. Here Here to kissing the cotton tail.
