Cora Louise (Gratitude)A Poem by Linda Marie Van TassellIn Memory of Cora Louise (Snavely) Linkous – 1948 – 2023 (age 74)A mother’s love is all encompassing, a gentle flower in the hand of God. She is a refuge, a rock, a blessing, a warrior woman with a soft façade. She is a beacon of promising light, a tender wind that is blowing proud. She is a mountain, the zenith and height. She is the sunlight on sails of a cloud. She is the beginning of everything loomed in the lacing of life’s filigree, born of the heavens and given her wing to sow and harvest the future to be. She is the sky with a thousand stars. She is the cradle of sacred divine. She wears the shadow of so many scars. She is a vessel, a tribute, a shrine. She is a river, the wellspring of life. She is a goddess of beauty and grace. She is the freedom from discord and strife. She is the love that you see on her face. She is a whisper from God to your ear, words that are fleeting, with delicate ease. She is the treble, a sweet bird to hear, a beautiful mantra:
Cora Louise. May you rest in peace, sweet Cora. I am so, so sorry, Pete. © 2023 Linda Marie Van TassellAuthor's NoteReviews
