A human being is part of the whole ... He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of consciousness. ~ Einstein
“You are not a drop in the ocean.
You are the entire ocean, in a drop.” ~ Rumi
Speck (and I am born) in the beam of a dream so bright. Spark (the early morn) in soft tendrils of azure light.
Shape (the softest breeze) across the hills to bring it near. Speak (like ancient trees) against the shoreline of your ear.
Sway (from myth to moor) until you touch the broken rune. Scatter (length and lore) and let it rain to quell the moon.
Shine (like a diamond) when the world tries to interlude. Seek (the sublime and) the peace that comes with solitude.
Some (can never see) the creation they are making. Song (of swallowed glee) desperation so heart-breaking.
Still (live not under) the shadow of trivial things. Strike (with the thunder), and slide your skin through golden rings.
Sun (you are a shield) an elemental crown of sky. Sweet (fragrance of field) blossom in me until I die.
Sacred (be not death). It is a flood that ever flows. Speak (with holy breath) and flush the petals of the rose.
Skin (let me be seen) and let me be the me in me. Soul (of evergreen) with vineyards ripe with jubilee.
Silence (let there be) a deeper silence evermore. Splendor (ecstasy) a speck of life forevermore.
When i see the image of a drop of water rippling, I am instantly reminded we exist as a wave and a particle simultaneously down to are last atom. We are a conglomeration of waves and particles never static never solid and never a completion always recompiling reshaping our construct it is up to us how we fill it and our construct does in turn become that which we choose to see and embrace. Lovely song by the way and glorious intents displayed within your poetic lines in a very attracting voice and cadence
No wiser, more conscious words ever spoken than those by Einstein and Rumi you've chosen to introduce the wonders of this creatively enthralling piece, Dear Linda Marie.
From inception to infinity, you've filled the page with magick of poetic perfection and heart-thrumming wonderment no one else I know of could.
With 5/8 inverted meter, original structure in syntactic flow, and your hallmark perfect rhyme scheme, you've imbued my mind's-eye with imagery, my soul with spiritual embrace, and sent sensations surging through my beings fibre in such ways as to mesmerize from first to final word, from picture to musical harmony, all of which I literally "felt". Love the originality of how you've emphasized each syllabic topic of first and third lines every verse by enclosing their meanings in parentheses … there is nothing ever boring about your poetry, Linda Marie.
I tried my best to single out a favorite line or verse, each with its personal touch … it was this that struck deepest and held tightest:
"Sun (you are a shield)
an elemental crown of sky.
Sweet (fragrance of field)
blossom in me until I die."
From emotional and conscious awakening to incomparably composed words that paint understandings in virtual reality for those whose level of being allow knowing we are each everything, all things, even each other ⁓ that (in ultimate truth) there is no such thing as separation, birth, or death.
Ah, I could wax endlessly and lyrically from your inspiration, but let me not! LOL!
Completely uncharacteristic for You, V4, L1 and 4 are off-count. You know I'm not a meter Nazi, but when the rest is so perfect, it trips so easily. : )
The aura of this one will glow within for quite some while … love it mucho! ⁓ Richard 🍃

I don't know that it's that deserving, but I appreciate it nonetheless. Thank you also for pointing out my fallacy in the fourth verse. I have corrected the last line. As for the first, all indications that I can find show that diamond is a two-syllable word. I am in the south so we say it as three, and I hear it as three. When writing, however, I try to not use my southern pronunciation as the rule.
You know you are always truly welcome.

Diamond - biographical name
Di·a·mond | ˈdī-(ə-)mənd
However, when listening to the pronunciation, it is Die-mond … go figure: I've always said die-a-mond (the way it's spelled and syllabled) in speech and poetry. It's fun to learn something new from You. : )
Had I not considered your poem worthy of all I expressed, I would not have been so inspired. With Your work, I am always respectful and never pretentious … it's just the way you make me feel and what I think you deserve.
Glad I could help You a little (for a change). ; )

This is lovely. Full of wisdom and spiritual understanding. It’s like a dream of knowing one’s self fully coming true. Inheriting the makings of what we are and spreading them as light to the world.
Truly a poem I would read again and again. Beautiful work. I’m glad you introduced yourself on my page. I look forward to reading more of your work.

The title was "Timestroke - Residents at the End of Time," and it was going to be about us finding the lost city of Atlantis and discovering this sun disc that they used to harness power from the sun, which eventually destroyed them. Was history going to repeat itself or were we going to learn from their mistakes? I just could not maintain the focus required for writing a novel. That's why I love poetry. I can write from a place of emotion, harness it to pen a poem, and then release it like a dandepuff in the wind.
your poems are amazing, If you ever compile a book of poems, I'd definitely buy one.

I used to do oil paintings years ago; and when I started painting for money, it became a job and drove the joy right out of me. I don't want the same thing to happen with my poetry. Besides, how many poets have become rich from their writing?

dear Linda Marie... "an optical delusion of consciousness" by Einstein himself (in your profile)...
Your poetry is three-dimensional. Amazing ... "Speak with holy breath and flush the petals of a Rose".
Be still my heart. truly, Pat
This is profoundly beautiful and beautifully profound. I loved the parentheticals, though some of them I found didn't make much sense, given how they work, but that might be the abstract going beyond abstract. Your pieces are always beyond poetic and so well done, they're always a cathartic experience. So happy to see you posting again. Well freaking done!!

This is sort of like abstract art to me. The thoughts that meditation or prayer would bring when in deep contemplation. We are but tiny specks on this earth but I gather in some ways we are much more, as are the vibrations we send out.

Thank you. We really are one, living under the illusion that we are separate.
Poetry has been my passion since I was about fifteen years old, and I love the structure of rhyme and meter moreso than just randomly throwing words upon a page without any form whatsoever.
