Falling HomeA Poem by Linda Marie Van TassellBeauteous to be, I will blaze across the sky.The black days have vanished, my mysterious past, and perfumed waters are circling at my feet. Overcome with ecstasy when I saw you last, I awoke from a deep sleep, enraptured, complete.
I clambered from the void of never knowing you, falling home into the myth of sun and spirit, wore a golden veil over eyes of violet-blue, bid my heart to sing a song so you would hear it.
When at last you left on a whisper and a wave and stretched your echo in a ripple of the sound, I fluttered feathered wing perchance my soul to save and cast my shadow over velvet vines and ground.
I spun a silver stem and flickered it with moon and wove a web of watered words for you to see. I painted passion’s plume with platinum premune, an endless skein of starlight shine and alchemy.
When words are wingless, worn, and withering away and lamps are sundered in a house of dull delight, I will kiss you when I miss you, promise to pray until the warmth in me suffuses me with light.
Beauteous to be, I will blaze across the sky, spill silken hair across the shoulder of the sea, tantalize with tongue, bewitch with diamond eye, until flesh becomes unfettered, infinite, free.
Everything and all is falling into you, into a million moons that glimmer in the gloam, into ocean eyes that shimmer violet-blue, and wings of words that long to fall, falling home. © 2017 Linda Marie Van TassellAuthor's NoteReviews
