Sensually YoursA Poem by Linda Marie Van TassellSeduce my mind, and you can have my body. Find my soul, and I’m yours forever. The rain has laundered the air sweet as dew, and the birds sing among the verdant trees. My thoughts immediately drift to you as clouds are blown by the unruffled breeze. I stretch my limbs until the reach succeeds in easing the strain of a sleepless night and count my blessings as though golden beads that are made brilliant by the morning light. I look at your picture that looks at me that speaks volumes without a single word. The way you smile is a soliloquy of ancient whispers that cannot be heard. Your eyes have captured a pale slant of fire from the midday sun that is standing still. It sparks off the copper-capped chapel’s spire that stands proudly over sepulchral hill. The time and distance are but stepping stones. With every step, I whisper your name; and as the ghost of you lives in my bones, we are both kindled by that secret flame. My space is defined by the silent sound of a faith that sings in her own proud way and hands of a clock that go round and round even when my spirit might fly away. Until heaven opens her mighty doors, I am ever true, sensually yours. © 2015 Linda Marie Van TassellReviews
