The Most Beautiful Girl Ever Seen

The Most Beautiful Girl Ever Seen

A Poem by Linda Marie Van Tassell
"

He slipped into my world with a smile and has lingered ever since.

"

Waves wash over time and friends that were.

Temporal years create a divide,

but memories swirl and softly stir

the ghosts of yesterday at my side.

He slipped into my world with a smile,

his eyes shimmering a moonstone-blue,

whispering words to ever beguile,

that pierced the sky and my own heart too.

His words bathed me in a loving light;

and I danced around the sun’s eclipse,

filled with a joy, bounteous and bright,

which spilled from the corners of his lips.

I lean into the echoes of Michael Brizendine,

"You are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen."

Author's Note

Linda Marie Van Tassell
He walked straight up to me with a definitive air and proclaimed, “You are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen.” I was so dumbstruck that I couldn’t even respond. As quick as he got the courage to approach, he turned around and walked away. I never even got to say, “Thank you.” I have never forgotten him nor his words and would have never imagined the impression that he would leave after all these years. He had a message to deliver and sought nothing in return. Sometimes, I wish he had stayed for my response.

I suppose some liasons are never meant to be completed.

A fine admission to missing the a golden moment and learning from it. Words wrap it up quite nicel.

The accompanying story is sweeter still

I love this one also. It creates a mood and sets the mind wandering into your world. Is this your artwork as well, the photography I mean.

Poetry has been my passion since I was about fifteen years old, and I love the structure of rhyme and meter moreso than just randomly throwing words upon a page without any form whatsoever. Whi.. more..
