Corruption

Corruption

A Poem by Linear
"

A yearning for better things

"
The petals of all flowers
Fall
Curl up
slowly disintegrate into the earth
That beckons all

Once so beautiful
So splendid
Now have lost their fight
Falling into corruption

Progeny
Left to rise
Make their stand
But like all the rest they to will fall

Time they say heals
Yet time also destroys
Men knowing these things
Still strive
Search
For a meaning to their lives

We learn, live and wonder
Look to the heavens in awe
We have achieved so much
Yet missed even more

A walk on the moon
Rockets to Mars and beyond
Great expectations
Yet we can't feed our fellow man!

The search for eternal youth goes on
We marvel at the scientists
Hold them in high esteem
They poison the planet

And the Earth shall welcome them all
For into it's depths
We all shall fall
So  just for one moment

STOP

Think
Lets all hold hands and love each other
Reach out your hand today
Smile
As we all fall to the enemy time
Allow the gentle earth
To enfold you

Your poem tell the truth. We will spend billions on a space program. And allow people to be homeless and hungry. It is a sad story. 1.2 trillion on war. 50 billion on education. Better to support police actions then educate our kids. I like the positive ending. We need a billion people to stop and demand change. Thank you for the outstanding poem.

Indeed it did make me think, the structure leaves no reader wanting and creates the sense of perfection seriously lacking i a lot of writers today, you made greatness with words, well done, great read.
