In Loving Memory

In Loving Memory

A Poem by Linear

In loving memory of a dream
now shattered
A fantasy, yet lucid dream
of such beauty

That I dared to believe
even in a solitude like this
Would bear a fruit
so divine

A taste of heaven
that was beheld
but was never to be given

Beautiful and breathy in its fluidity. Short and sweet in flavor. And yet I can't help but believe that you have given up on the dream all too easily. We have learned many things as humans, but the one thing we still struggle to cultivate is patience. The dream does not elude you, you've given up your end of the bargain to search for it. Beautiful, breathy work.

A strong return, I would say. Your poem was succint and the word play was beautiful. Keep up the good work.

It has a certain ethereal quality to it. It flows perfectly like water to the readers eyes and makes perfect since. The forbidden fruit that one cannot have but of course always wants. Beautiful work.

This just overwhelmed me.. made me want to scream "Don't let go! Please don't let go!" I have such a dream... yes that certain taste of heaven.. may we both find that it will be given.. in time.

The gifts we desire from another and never received. Leave us in wonder and their faces to appear in secret dreams. I like how you made the reader feel a loss and a sadness for something missed and desired. Thank you for a outstanding poem.
