Guide Me

Guide Me

A Poem by Linear
"

A lost, or hiding Muse

"
I wish you were here to guide me
inspire me
open my eyes so I may see
colours in shimmering prisms

Where are you now?
when I need you most
hands out stretched but they cant reach you
what about the promise you made?
I need only call

Well I'm calling now
I need you
yet you never will come.
Choosing another left my life undone

Are you perhaps here?
reading all that I write
hiding in the shadows
lost inside a vortex of a lonely imagination

I cry I weep and no longer try
the embrace I crave as left this place
no melody has my violin played
broken strings
lost the chords of reason, rhyme and freedom

Your words were light
voice of angels rising
lifted me up to higher plains
rainbows drip into orchids cup
which no longer need the draining

Speak to me I pray
just one more silent time
inspire my soul
leave not this empty hole
where heart should be

And I am only dreaming
love is like a butterfly
so fragile, if you catch it you break it
inspiration leaks
bleeds
till there is nothing left

Please come back and guide me.

this reminds me of a poem i wrote sometime back.."My Angel"..the painting suits perfectly..sometimes we miss people so much..that the world starts seeming like a void without them..my favorite part was-
"love is like a butterfly
so fragile, if you catch it you break it
inspiration leaks
bleeds
till there is nothing left"

A lost of hiding muse… I went through that a while ago, and it was a rough time. I couldn't write at all, and boy am I glad it's in the past now. This poem portrays that beautifully.

"so fragile, if you catch it you break it
inspiration leaks
bleeds
till there is nothing left"

Definitely my favorite part. Great job.

We must always save a piece of our heart for ourselves, or we will soon find ourselves hollow, without the necessary fuel to keep us progressing forward. I particularly enjoyed the line "lost the chords of reason, rhyme, and freedom". Such a broad streak of sorrow and loss here, feels like a fresh wound trying to form a scab. Excellent wordcrafting all around! Minor editing note- "the embrace I crave as left this place". You've pulled an Eliza Doolittle and dropped an "h"! :o) wishing you laughter

even in the missing of the muse "they" still inspire you....beautiful surrender of needing direction back into a more hopeful angle...
