Always the Clown

Always the Clown

A Poem by Linear
"

Just me trying to write

"
Though I write you will probably
never see what you meant to me
all you saw where
the tips of icebergs

Even if you looked would you see me
the love I held inside
just for you
but you only saw the plant and not the root

In those years
we were seldom apart
we loved free
yet you only saw the blossom not the tree

And now that time has passed by
I still think of you so much
though I saw you and all that you could be

You Amazed me
I saw the woman not the girl
the smile never the frown
a blind man in love

The fool
always the clown
I wish you had seen me
and all that I could have been

wonderful ~ emotional depth ~ of what one sees and another shows....the lines were profound and simple - "yet you only saw the blossom not the tree" - this is important...we neglect to recognize the root of love and only praise the superficial and short lived blossom - yet in the winter when its cold - love is still alive but left abandoned....this is what i felt through this write - thank you for sharing -

I do enjoy this but it dosent flow so well. It is nice and has great meaning but the way it's arranged is a bit off. Pretty good job.

It's hard when you see the person you love as wonderful and they can't see it in you! Love can sink at times"LOL" Well written poem with deep emotion.

Ouch! I can really feel the pain in this one Linear! Makes me glad there is at least one bad emotion I have managed to avoid! Makes me proud to be the husband of DeViouS. We know each other roots and all. I hope and pray you find the same.

When we fall short of people's expectations and the leave because of it, it hurts deep down inside especially if you love the person who they are, who they could, and who they may never be. Sometimes we have to stop taking people for granted and remember what we loved about them in the beginning. Rewind time to a different place and circumstances. This poems speaks of a love that ended because of years passing by and that is sad and disheartening. I could feel all the emotions in this poem pouring off the words. The loss and loneliness. The explanation that a love is still felt.
