Night Calls

Night Calls

A Poem by Linear
"

A little dark stuff

"
When the night hawk calls
you awaken from a dreamless sleep
and loneliness screams right at you
then the spectres three stand in judgement on thee

Dragging you from your cosy bed
hoping and praying this is all inside your head
yet with fingers pointing you must do their will
for you stand accused
in a damp and stagnant court of hell

The first one stands
he screams your name
says you are the one to blame

To the rack he shouts
we will know the truth
and then you'll plead and beg

Cobwebs drift across my face
looming from this empty place
tears fall down upon the ground

the second one stands
and laughs out loud
"now lets see you dance" says he

Spectre three with black silk on head
looks a little sad to me
yet in his hand he holds my life
whats the crime?

HE STRANGLED HIS WIFE

upon your knees you will come to me or lose your head it's up to me
say your piece or take a bow

It wasn't me, I swear I'm innocent
it was the laughter I couldn't bear

as they all sat
and fell off their chairs

And I realised
the laughter that i heard
was coming from between my lips

Hahahahahahah!

A little dark?.. hell this had the makings of a nightmare into madness, darkest only before the dawn.. and I absolutely love the humor at the very end..
