Poetry is in the Heart

Poetry is in the Heart

A Poem by Linear
"

What do you see?

"
"Write me a poem please
of love and all it's wonders"

"I'm a little tired now may I do it later"

"Please write it now while love is still awake on my skin
and your taste is still on my tongue"

I reached over and picked up an apple
smiled and gave it to her

"Why do you give me an apple
when I asked you for a poem"?

Getting up
I said nothing
dressing quietly I left

I wondered why she didn't see the poem
the poem that I'd left

ooo I like, it makes us think, perhaps the apple reflects nature within itself and the complexities of it and thus the beauty of nature? That's my interpretation haha but I do like how you've left it open for us to deliberate!!

Oh I just had a moment of silence after I read this poem, and all I could think of was how superb it is. I think the last two lines are the best...so sad...:)

Your poem infuses an everyday object with subtle meaning... Why an apple? I wondered. Apple of my eye, poisonous apple, apple dumpling, Adam's apple... Good choice.
