The Girl With the Purple Dress

The Girl With the Purple Dress

A Poem by Linear
"

Love is the Breath of Life

"

I thought I could write

but my pen had run out of ink

I thought I could see

but realised I was blind

I thought I coud hear soft sweet music

but only silence was around

I thought I knew love and all it's ways

but then I saw you

Heard you sing

and thats when I knew, I knew nothing at all

For no words ever spoken

could explain you

or describe you

No song ever sung

could ever tell the beauty of you

And no other eye

could see

what I behold each time  I gaze upon you

This makes me think of an old story… I don't mean a story I've read a while ago, but an aged one, if that makes sense. It's beautiful… I can almost see her, and I can certainly imagine someone sitting at a table with the lights down low writing this with a feather pen.

This is a great expression of how in a moment you know that the person you are looking at is going to change your world and your perceptions of things forever. This poem is done with simplicity on a complicated feel and situation that many don't know until it hits them. In the third stanza you forgot to put a space after the second I. Other than that I thoroughly enjoyed this poem. I had that happen to me and can relate to this poem quite well and I am still trying to get passed and move on. Long story but oh the moment it happens it a magical and wondrous thing.
