Fortis Vadom Existo DebelloA Poem by LinearThe Valliant Shall be Vanquished This has religious overtonesAnd if i write shall i write with my hearts blood? Perhaps i could write of loves sweet tenderness Or it's deepest bitterness
May my pen serve well my writing on this wall
Yet when all is said and finally done All is vanity A striving after wind
If i should write a marvelous sonnet or build a mighty bridge My thoughts will perish along with bones returning to the dust
For when i lie down (as we all must) with my forbears i shall be the same as all Just Dust
We may as well try and hold the wind For The Valliant Shall Be Vanquished © 2010 LinearFeatured Review
